NEWS
March, 2007: re:Writing Project I

New session!
We are delighted to announce a new session of the re:Writing Project - an introduction to memoir writing for young adult cancer survivors (20s to early 40s). This is an incredible program which has been met with great success (including write-ups in The New York Times and The Oncology Times) and will offer participants a unique opportunity to learn the narrative form, receive mentorship from top professionals in the publishing industry, meet other young adult survivors, and have their work published in our literary journal at the end of the term.

This class will meet on Tuesdays for 14 weeks, commencing Tuesday, March 20, from 6-7:30 at Teachers & Writers Collaborative in NYC (8th Ave./36th Street).

This program is sponsored by a community grant from The Lance Armstrong Foundation, and will be receiving national attention. If you would like to participate, please email jodi [at] thelifelab [dot] org (or call 212-920-3672) ASAP!

New issue of Noble!
A new issue of our literary journal, Noble, featuring the work from our intermediate writing program last summer, will be printed in late March. This program was sponsored by a Visionary Grant from the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. There was incredible work produced in the class! We will have details here on our release party, and how to purchase the journal as soon as it is available.

Previously in LifeLab News:

The first edition of The LifeLab's literary journal, Noble, has been published! You can purchase a copy here. Noble is the result of the pilot cycle of The LifeLab's writing workshop, The re:Writing Project. We are very proud of the work.

Thanks to all of you who attended the reading party last month for Noble. For those of you who couldn't make it, you can listen to a podcast of the reading right here! Press the arrow to begin:

This podcast thing is pretty cool, I must say. For those of you who would like copies of the journal, they will be available here in about a week.

The re:Writing Project is The LifeLab's creative writing workshop for young adult cancer survivors in New York City. We will be holding additional cycles of The re:Writing Project, in the future. Please see the schedule below and contact us if you would like to participate.
